Wildly Beloved Foods, based in Clinton, Washington, has announced a voluntary recall of approximately 60 packages of its dried pasta products. The recall, initiated on June 24, 2024, affects specific lots of both Orzo (vegan) Dried and Campanelle (vegan) Dried, packaged in 10 oz bags. This action is a precautionary measure due to the potential for mold growth contamination in these products.
The affected products were distributed across Washington State through various retail outlets and farmers markets. Specifically, the Orzo (vegan) Dried, in 10oz packages, reached consumers via Payless Foods, The Star Store, Bayview Farmers Market, Redmond Farmers Market, Woodinville Farmers Market, Tilth Farmers Market, Everett Farmers Market, and the Wildly Beloved Foods Marketplace. These recalled Orzo packages are identifiable by the lot number WBF-SEMPLV-CL-050724-A and a “best by” date of May 7, 2025, clearly marked on the side of the compostable clear bag.
Similarly, the Campanelle (vegan) Dried, also in 10oz packages, were distributed through Bayview Farmers Market, Redmond Farmers Market, Woodinville Farmers Market, Tilth Farmers Market, Everett Farmers Market, and the Wildly Beloved Foods Marketplace in Washington. Consumers should look for the lot number WBF-SEMPLV-CL-051724-A and a “best by” date of May 17, 2025, on the side of the clear compostable packaging to identify the recalled Campanelle.
The company stated that the recall was initiated after internal quality control checks revealed three packages within their own retail environment exhibiting early signs of mold development. The root cause of the potential contamination is attributed to the products being under-dried during production, which may create conditions conducive to mold growth over time.
While no illnesses related to these products have been reported to date, Wildly Beloved Foods is urging consumers who have purchased the affected 10oz packages of Dried Orzo or Campanelle to take immediate action. Consumers are advised to return the recalled pasta to the original point of purchase to receive a full refund.
