Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Sabor, and I’m excited to share my food review.
Cafe Sabor in Cedar City offers a welcoming atmosphere and a menu packed with tempting dishes. I made sure to visit during a quieter time in the late afternoon to fully appreciate the ambiance and service, and to capture some photos of the delicious food. Even during this off-peak hour, the restaurant had a pleasant buzz, indicating its popularity with locals and visitors alike.
The first impression of Cafe Sabor is its cleanliness and bright, fresh interior. The atmosphere immediately sets a positive tone for the dining experience. And when it comes to Mexican food, a crucial starting point is the chips and salsa. Cafe Sabor truly excels here, delivering chips and salsa that are a cut above the rest.
To get a comprehensive taste of their menu, our table decided to order a variety of dishes. My friend Hillari opted for the Chipotle Chicken Salad and was thoroughly impressed. She specifically highlighted the ranch dressing, noting its exceptional flavor – a real treat for ranch lovers!
My husband, a fan of vegetarian options, chose the Vegetarian Burrito. He raved about the incredible flavor and the generous filling of fresh vegetables. He confirmed it was well worth the price and happily finished every bite, even managing to sample some of our other dishes.
Another friend, Doug, went for a combo plate, selecting a taco, enchilada, and tamale, and then added a Chili Relleno as a side. The Chili Relleno, a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, dipped in egg batter, and fried to a golden brown, turned out to be a standout.
The Chili Relleno quickly became one of my personal favorites from everything I tasted. It was exceptionally flavorful and delicious, and at just $4 as an add-on, it’s an incredible value.
For my main course, I chose the Carne Asada Fries, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Plus, I had the opportunity to sample everyone else’s choices, making me feel like the ultimate food winner of the day!
The fries were perfectly cooked, and while I’m not a big fan of pico de gallo, I found that dipping them in the salsa was a fantastic alternative. Any minor preferences were just that – personal tastes – and didn’t detract from the overall quality of the food.
Before leaving, I noticed a tempting display of Blue Bird Candy Chocolates. While I resisted indulging that day, they certainly looked delicious and are something to consider for a sweet treat after your meal.
Overall, my experience at Cafe Sabor was very positive. While not the cheapest option, the quality of the food justifies the price. The service was adequate, and I definitely plan to return, especially as those Carne Asada Fries are already calling my name!
