The refreshed menu, accompanied by a redesigned physical menu and eco-friendly packaging, promises a premium dining experience for Acela travelers.

The new Amtrak Food Menu boasts a variety of enticing options:
- Breakfast: Start your day with wholesome overnight oats, savory egg frittatas, or delectable pastries sourced from esteemed local bakeries in culinary hotspots like Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
- Lunch/Dinner: For midday and evening meals, passengers can savor refreshing Mediterranean salads, flavorful peppered turkey sandwiches, or the delightful chicken & mozzarella pesto sandwich.
- Snacks: Elevate your snack time with an artisan cheese & fruit tray or a sophisticated charcuterie plate, perfect for pairing with a beverage.
- Wine Selections: Unwind with premium wine choices, including Daou chardonnay and Banshee pinot noir.
Beyond the menu items, Amtrak is enhancing the overall dining experience with a modern redesigned carry-out box and reimagined menu posters. Reflecting Amtrak’s dedication to environmental responsibility, all fresh food items, delivered daily, are packaged using sustainable materials. Compostable materials and recycled plastic are utilized, underscoring Amtrak’s commitment to sustainability and minimizing waste. This new Amtrak food menu is currently exclusive to Acela trains and will serve as the foundation for the signature menu on the upcoming new Acela fleet launching later this year.
This Cafe Acela upgrade is part of Amtrak’s broader initiative to elevate its food and beverage offerings across its services. Recent improvements include the introduction of a new, rotating menu at the Metropolitan Lounge in New York City’s Moynihan Train Hall and updated snack and beverage menus in other Metropolitan Lounges nationwide. Furthermore, Amtrak is continuing its successful collaboration with renowned restaurateur Stephen Starr, presenting three new STARR Restaurant-inspired meals for Acela First Class passengers starting at the end of May. First Class diners can anticipate dishes such as wok cashew chicken from Buddakan, black bean enchiladas from El Vez, coq au vin from Parc, and the highly anticipated return of the black pepper beef from Buddakan.
