Easy & Convenient Food Donation Drop Off Locations: Nourish Your Community

Every day, countless individuals and families face food insecurity. One of the most direct and impactful ways to help is through food donation. Finding accessible and convenient Food Donation Drop Off locations makes it easier than ever to contribute to your community and ensure that surplus food reaches those in need. At organizations like the Central Texas Food Bank, we streamline the process, allowing you to make a real difference with a simple drop off.

Understanding Food Donation Drop Off: How You Can Help

Food donation drop off is a straightforward process that allows individuals, groups, and businesses to donate food items at designated locations. These drop-off points serve as collection hubs, from which donated food is then distributed to food banks, pantries, and other organizations that directly assist individuals and families facing hunger. Whether you are an individual clearing out your pantry, a community group organizing a food drive, or a business with surplus inventory, understanding food donation drop off is the first step in making a meaningful contribution.

Drop Off Locations for Food Donations Under 1,500 Pounds

For smaller, individual donations—typically considered under 1,500 pounds, or roughly the size of two standard pickup truck beds—direct drop off is often the most efficient method. Here are your primary options for food donation drop off at the Central Texas Food Bank and its partners:

Direct Drop Off at the Central Texas Food Bank Warehouse

Our main warehouse serves as a central food donation drop off location. It’s designed for quick and easy donations, so you can drop off and go without appointment.

Location: 6500 Metropolis Dr. Austin, TX 78744. For GPS navigation, please use the parking lot entrance off Burleson Rd. Once you arrive, drive through the black gate to our Warehouse loading dock and park in any available spot at docks 8, 9, and 10. You’ll find a designated food donation bin right on the loading dock.

Drop Off Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What to Expect: Simply place your food donations in the provided bin. There’s no need to weigh your donation or schedule an appointment. It’s designed to be a quick and convenient food donation drop off. If you require a donation receipt for tax purposes, you can easily download one here.

Partner Food Pantries: Local Food Donation Drop Off Points

In addition to our main warehouse, the Central Texas Food Bank partners with numerous food pantries throughout the region. These pantries act as local food donation drop off points, making it even easier to give back in your own neighborhood.

Finding a Local Pantry: To find a partner pantry near you, please use our online food pantry locator.

Important Note: Pantry hours and donation acceptance procedures can vary. Some pantries have specific operating days or prefer to schedule drop-off times. To ensure a smooth and successful food donation drop off, it is always recommended to call the pantry beforehand to confirm their hours and any specific donation guidelines.

Hunters for the Hungry Program: A Unique Donation Opportunity

For hunters, there’s a unique way to contribute through our Hunters for the Hungry program. Legally tagged and field-dressed whitetail or mule deer can be donated at participating meat processors. These processors then prepare the venison for distribution through the Central Texas Food Bank network, providing a valuable source of protein to those in need. This program expands the avenues for food donation drop off and engages a different segment of the community in hunger relief.
