Discover the Food Truck League: Salt Lake City’s Premier Mobile Food Event

Craving a diverse culinary adventure in one location? Look no further than The Food Truck League, Salt Lake City’s exciting answer to outdoor dining and community fun. This innovative organization brings together a vibrant collective of food trucks, transforming ordinary evenings into bustling food courts complete with live entertainment and a lively atmosphere. We recently experienced the buzz firsthand and are excited to share why the food truck league is quickly becoming a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.

Currently, you can find the food truck league setting up shop every Monday night in Sugarhouse at 2234 Highland Drive. Expanding its reach, they also launch every Friday starting June 5th at the University of Utah Bountiful Campus, located at 100 E 100 S. The best part? The food truck league is rapidly growing, with plans to host food truck nights across the Wasatch Front every single night of the week. To stay ahead of the curve and discover new locations as they launch, be sure to follow them on social media @foodtruckleague or subscribe to their newsletter through their website The Food Truck League.

We joined the enthusiastic crowd on opening night and it was an unforgettable experience. Witnessing the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Francisco marked the start of something truly special. Almost immediately, the energy surged as the community poured in to support local businesses. Within minutes, Sugarmont Plaza was packed, buzzing with excitement and the sounds of a live band. The vibrant atmosphere was palpable, a testament to the community’s support for local entrepreneurs and the unique concept of the food truck league.

For families, the food truck league presents an ideal evening out. With a diverse array of trucks in one place, everyone can find something to satisfy their cravings. On our visit, our four children each chose exactly what they wanted without the usual restaurant debate. Having ten trucks side-by-side allowed us to sample cuisines from at least five different vendors in a single evening. True to the reputation of food trucks, every dish we tried was absolutely delicious and prepared with care.

And who can resist breakfast for dinner? The food truck league offers options that appeal to all ages and tastes, ensuring a fun and satisfying meal for everyone.

Even with dietary restrictions, like Corbin’s milk allergy, the food truck league provides choices. He happily enjoyed fresh, wood-fired pizza from Fire and Slice Pizza, customized without cheese.

After collecting everyone’s meals, we found a cozy spot to settle in and enjoy our food. Arriving early allowed us to get food quickly, but the area filled up rapidly. Thankfully, being “baby wearing mamas” meant navigating the crowd with little ones was manageable. As the food truck league expands to more locations, we anticipate the crowds will disperse a bit. Until then, arriving right at the start time is highly recommended to avoid long waits and secure your favorite dishes.

The mac and cheese from Fat Kid Mac and Cheese was a standout, described as “grown-up, full of flavor, gooey mac and cheese!” The food truck league truly offers elevated street food experiences.

TheLeague promises to be a consistently fun and exciting event!

Blacks Sliders served delicious mini-burgers, perfectly sized for kids. Knowing their beef is ethically sourced, hormone and antibiotic-free, made it a guilt-free and quality fast food choice for our little ones. Finding healthy and convenient options is always a win for busy parents.

TheLeague boasts a network of over 40 trucks, ensuring a rotating selection of cuisines at each event. With such variety, every visit to the food truck league promises new culinary discoveries. We are already planning our return!

For your visit to the food truck league, we recommend bringing camp chairs to comfortably enjoy the live entertainment and your food. Arrive early to secure a prime spot, especially if you have a particular food truck in mind, as popular items can sell out. While opening night was bustling, the expansion of the food truck league across more locations will likely ease the crowds. In the meantime, plan ahead, arrive early, and prepare for a fantastic family night out all summer long at The Food Truck League.
