Salmonella infection can lead to a range of symptoms, including fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems, Salmonella can cause more serious conditions requiring medical intervention.

To mitigate any potential risk, Fry’s Food Store swiftly removed bulk onions sourced from Thomson International, Inc. from its shelves on August 1st, upon initial notification. Further investigation revealed that red onions from the produce department, potentially from the implicated supplier, might have been used as an ingredient in several varieties of cheese dips prepared in-store.

The recalled cheese dips were sold in plastic containers between May 15, 2020, and August 6, 2020. Customers who purchased these products from Fry’s Food Store are strongly advised not to consume them. The affected products are detailed in the table below:
